Al Seef, a leisure destination by Meraas, tells the story of Dubai through architecture and ambiance, enabling visitors to rediscover the heart of the city along its much-loved creek.
With the rich Emirati heritage, history and culture at its core, Al Seef consists of a heritage area, inspired by traditional architecture and a more contemporary area inspired by modern design elements with several alleyways, walkways, shops, cafes and restaurants. Along with this, three hotels and a marina for private yachts all come together to bridge the gap between the old and new.
The 1.8 km-long strip is split into two very distinct regions. There’s the modern site that has the contemporary Meraas hallmarks – while the other side is modeled on Old Dubai, with narrow corridors, market stall traders and buildings that have been created with an “already old” finish.
It is in this traditional region that Cape Reed was closely involved, having completed more than 2000m² of heritage style barasti pergolas, 1000m² of barasti privacy screens, 1700m² of shade canopies and more than a kilometer of timber handrailing along the water’s edge.
This development masterfully combines age old traditions with modern designs, offering tourist and locals alike a taste of local culture and an unforgettable journey through the past.
This irresistible combination of Emirati heritage and hospitality, homegrown concepts and world-renowned brands is sure to keep you coming back for more.
