Cape Reed International completed the Anantara Sir Bani Yas Resort in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in 2013. This project was recently voted as one of the world’s best new hotels by world renowned travel magazine and market leader, Travel + Leisure.
Barely an hour’s flight from the dizzying towers of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Anantara’s Al Sahel Villa Resort feels worlds away, thanks to its location amid the savannah-like grasslands of Sir Bani Yas Island’s farmed Arabian Wildlife Park, offering an incomparable glimpse of natural beauty up close. Game drives and sunrise treks through the island’s valley offer chance encounters with native gazelles and oryx, while the 30 private and luxurious African- and Arab-inspired villas are fitted with private plunge pools and shaded verandas.
Al Sahel has been thoughtfully developed with consideration and respect to nature and the environment, using design principles that combine best practice with maximum efficiency and minimal environmental impact. This resort has been built with sustainable design features that perfectly complement the island’s delicate eco-system.
The one or two bedroom villas have been designed to blend in with the rustic savannah surroundings of the location. High thatched roofs offer an air of elegance and comfort, whilst rough rendered walls and tented structures reminiscent of Bedouin tents set the tone of the blend of Africa and Arabia that is carried through into the interiors.
This care for nature extends into peace of mind for guests, providing a haven of natural serenity.
